SILCO Nano-composite
Silver–Copper–Zinc nano-composite concentrate
SILCO combines nano silver, nano copper and nano zinc in one stable, water-based concentrate. Silver and copper together act against a wider range of microbes than either metal alone. That makes SILCO a strong active ingredient for crop-hygiene, livestock-hygiene and surface-sanitation products. We supply it in bulk and as private label to formulators.

Key properties
- Synergistic Ag–Cu action: Silver and copper attack microbes in complementary ways, so the combination covers a broader range than either metal alone.
- Broad-spectrum: Active against bacteria, fungi and viruses on contact, under suitable conditions.
- Ultra-fine particles: 5–8 nm particles give a very high surface area relative to the metal used.
- Water-based, neutral pH: An aqueous concentrate at pH 7–8 that is easy to dilute and build into liquid products.
- Zinc included: Nano zinc adds a micronutrient and further antibacterial function.
Applications
Agrochemical formulators
- Crop-hygiene and plant-surface sanitation products
- Seed-treatment and nursery hygiene formulations
- Root-zone and drip-line microbial control
Animal health & dairy / poultry
- Drinking-water line hygiene for dairy and poultry
- Surface sanitation in sheds, hatcheries and dairies
- Equipment and tool sanitation
Industrial & institutional hygiene
- Anti-biofilm treatment for pipes and water channels
- Hard-surface cleaners for food units and offices
- Sterilisation of instruments and cutting tools
Technical overview
Silver–copper nanoparticles combine the antimicrobial properties of both metals with the advantages of nanoscale materials. They can exist as a true alloy (both metals in one particle), as a composite (for example core–shell particles), or as a mixed colloid of separate silver and copper particles.
Performance depends on the silver-to-copper ratio, particle size, shape, oxidation state, stabiliser, pH and how well the particles are dispersed. Copper oxidises easily, so stabiliser choice and storage conditions directly affect long-term stability.
